New automated data tool processes medical images

DAYTON, Ohio – Qbase announced today the release of a new version of Qbase Data Transformer™ that goes far beyond traditional ETL tools for textual data to encompass medical imagery for healthcare diagnostics.

“Qbase Data Transformer™ already accelerates the extraction, transformation and loading of data into hyper-drive,” said Bill Pardue, chief executive officer of Qbase. “Expanding its capabilities to include processing of medical imaging data exponentially increases its flexibility and usefulness.”

The enhancements to Qbase Data Transformer™ include the ability to read and write DICOM, Mayo ANALYZE™ 7.5 and NifTI-1 format images, and to convert DICOM images into ANALYZE™ 7.5 images. The new tools allow vendor-independent MRI and fMRI post-processing including slice time correction, head motion correction, co-registration, normalization and smoothing.

Qbase Data Transformer™ delivers flexibility over existing medical image processing workflows, allowing the user to develop specialized yet reusable image processing workflows to ingest, transform and deliver image data. The work can be either executed on a stand-alone basis with Qbase Data Transformer™ or can be integrated with existing third-party medical image processing workflows.

Qbase Data Transformer™ leverages its unique data streaming technology to reduce processing times and increase data throughput. The addition of medical image processing extends the utility of Qbase Data Transformer™, which profiles, cleanses, converts and transforms a wide variety of data types – from healthcare statistics, to financial, logistical and geospatial data. Clients can view automatically-generated reports on invalid data, information quality and data profiling. The Qbase solution also matches and links related records.

Qbase provides leading solutions in data quality, cleansing, management and analytics for the military, healthcare organizations, businesses and government agencies. The technology company also delivers IT services across business, nonprofit and government sectors.
